Theater

Reporting from the Theater desk of the Massachusetts Times, Boston, Massachusetts.

From Beacon Hill the desk's view takes in the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge and Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell.

The Berkshires hold the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Barrington Stage in Pittsfield and Shakespeare & Company in Lenox; the Cape holds the Cape Playhouse in Dennis.

Massachusetts summer festivals and the Mass Cultural Council's grants drive the year, and the desk covers the Commonwealth's stages well past Route 128.
